Managing side effects

What you can do

Mouth sores (stomatitis)

Mouth sores are common with REVTORPYK and may be severe. To help reduce the risk of mouth sores, your oncologist will prescribe an alcohol-free, steroid-containing mouthwash as you begin treatment with REVTORPYK. This mouthwash is used for 2 minutes at a time, 4 times a day, for the first 8 weeks of treatment, or as instructed by your care team.

  • ulcers

Rash

REVTORPYK can cause severe rash. Talk with your oncologist about treatment options to reduce the risk of rash or treat a rash, such as allergy medicines like antihistamines, before starting or with REVTORPYK.

Tell your care team or get medical help right away if you get a new or worsening rash.

Hyperglycemia

High blood sugar can occur with REVTORPYK and may be severe. Your care team will monitor your blood sugar levels before starting and during treatment with REVTORPYK. It is not known if REVTORPYK is safe in people with Type 1 diabetes or Type 2 diabetes that is not controlled.

Tell your care team if you develop any symptoms of high blood sugar, including:

  • excessive thirst
  • more frequent urination than usual or a higher amount of urine than normal
  • blurred vision
  • confusion
  • headache
  • increased appetite with weight loss
  • tiredness

Your care team is there to help. Tell them about any changes in your health that bother you or side effects you experience.
